 The Island, Newquay

Boscastle is one of the prettiest villages in the Duchy. A working harbour, the National Trust again maintains that the public continue having almost unlimited access. The village stands between deep granite valleys, sheltering the population from any Cornish gale which also main the small inlet an ideal port. That being said, the entrance to the port can be treacherous, with hidden rocks and reefs teasing the most dedicated seaman.

Padstow

Well known these days for the famous chef's Rick Stein's restaurant, the port is an ancient port and until the 1960's a major holiday destination by rail. Today the railway line has been removed to be replaced by the fantastic "Camel Trail" cycle path - part of the National Cycle Network.

Newquay

THE destination for thousands of youngsters each year seeking sun, sand and... well you know the rest! The town is a major surfing centre yet retains some of its older charm. A visit to the harbour displays a traditional working port (and many ice cream vans!).

Regular Web Watchers will know of my love for this old Tin Mine. The mine stands on the St.Agnes headland and is ideal at any time of year to visit. The famous dominating Cornish clifts fall steeply to the waters edge yet still tin miners were able to build and establish an industry here.
